On The Edge
Sophomore, Damali Underwood, wore the cutest Harem pants yesterday and wore them right. Usually I see people try to rock these and she is by far one of the cutest. I love how she kept the look on a monochromatic tone, making it seem like she didn't have to try too hard. When I see harem pants, it is normally paired with a blazer, but she even made it nice with a long cardigan. On top of her edgy style, Damali is perfect at sketching anything, making jewelry, sewing pieces together, and just an altogether well rounded artist. This hasn't even been a fave look of hers.

Bleach Black
One of my favorite blogs to stalk has this D.I.Y iPhone Case. This is really cool. When I get my iPhone, if ever, I want to try this! And you can, too!
Remember the site I posted before with the D.I.Y studs? Go there, order your studs and get busy- it's simple.

Fashion Is Art
Earlier this week, my friend, Lauren and I ventured to The Museum of Art and Design. I had to go and take pictures for my graphic design class, but happened to stumble upon this piece created by Jang Seung Hyo. This artist portrays images of his life through his art. He placed the images in layers forming this structure, but what really caught my eye was the clothing. It is amazing to see that fashion is everywhere.
Go check out this museum: located 2 Columbus Circle New York, NY

Thrift Thrifting Thrifted
If you have not noticed, thrifting is the new shopping savvy. Every single one of our 'look of the day' models have included an item that they thrifted. Not only does it save money, but you can find the most unique articles there. It also provides other things that range from jewelry to furniture to electronics. One guy that I modeled with for SwaggerNY (which I cannot model for anything) buys his clothing off Ebay. This is cool if you know your size and how things are going to fit, but I do not know my body type that well so I try and stick to exploring the thirft market.
Here are a couple of online thrifts I have shopped at before:

November In the 60's
We spotted Kristina's conservative, yet glamorous look as she was in a rush today. We could not help but to notice her beige collared button- up that she received while thrifting in Maryland and high-waist shorts (NY&Co) giving her a conservative 60's look to flow with the 60 degrees weather occurring in November. Her black studded flats from Steve Madden are the future of fashion and blend perfectly to give this outfit a bit of edge to this classy look. Also, the way her hair is styled and the add on accessories such as her black tights, studded earrings, and ruby red lipstick set everything in place. This is the future, yet vintage business woman must- have.
Virginia Verocity
We spotted this Virginia native, Alexis walking on the strip, and admired her casual military look. I loved her rustic nude boots, they are a great alternative to the traditional black color. Combat boots have been a staple fall/winter item for the last two years, and I don't think they're going anywhere. What I liked the most about her outfit was the way she grouped together her shorts, and tights, to add a touch of color she added a pair of Terra cotta colored knee-highs. This is a great way to couple both summer and fall items, while also staying warm. Did you notice the bow detail on her shorts, adorable rings? Aside from her stylish look, Alexis is a freshman, with her eye on the prize during our interview she told us about her shirt designing company Innovative Era. Whatever design you wish to have on a shirt from bleaching to cutting she will do anything you request. If you are looking to have custom shirts made, she is the go-to girl.

That New York Swagger
Hey Guys, I know it's been a while Raiven and I have been swamped but, we have a few treats for you.Over the past weekend Raiven, I and a two other fellow Saint John's students got the opportunity to be profiled in SwaggerNy's "Campus Crawl" feature. For those of you who do not know SwaggerNy is an up and coming website, that profiles the hottest street style in NYC. We managed to snap a few behind the scene pics. Check them out, and let us know what you think.
My co-blogger Raiven is repping her city to the fullest with her Chicago Bulls Crew neck.
I met this stylish young man , named Kadeem the day of the shoot. He is senior, graduating this fall semester for Communication Arts. In the future he hopes to create his own magazine. Check out his pants, did you notice they were football pants? Sorry for the side profile guys.
You may recognize Clarence from an earlier post, he was also profiled in the Swagger shoot .

Homemade Halloween Costumes
It has been a while since we've updated, but over the past Halloween weekend our friend Alexa's Pocahontas costume was nicely put together by scratch. Her mother made every piece of this costume and it looks as if it were bought at a store. It is amazing how people can design such professional pieces and not want to get involved in the industry. As for accessories, our friend, Damali Underwood, created her necklace from pieces bought at Michaels craft store. She looks just like the real Pocahontas.
