D.I.Y. Studs and Spikes

 Michelle, junior, walked in class yesterday with cool studs on her high top white Converse. I know that you can get those custom made, but Michelle designed them herself without looking cheap. She made them look expensive as if Converse had a studded and spiked line.

Michelle stated that she ordered the studs from an online store. (link posted below) but she designed the shoes and backpack herself. I'm sure that you can also buy the studs from a crafts store, as well.

Queen of the Jungle

 

 

Hi guys , its Ariane giving you our second look of the day, a young lady named Shantoel. Shantoel is Saint John's Jr. , and also aspiring designer. Her striking blonde hair, and faux black fur vest was the first thing to catch my eye. As many of you may know, fur vest have come to the mainstream as one of the must-have fall/winter items. Pairing her outfit with her Jefferey Campbells, she wore a red hat that goes with cheetah print any season from J.C. Penny. Another print to add to her look was the alligator messenger bag. She bought this from Top Shop/ Top Man NYC, which she uses for her school books and all other necessary things. I love the fact that she wore solid black part velour/ part spandex leggings to settle all of the prints. What I found so interesting was that she incorporated three different textured prints and made it work so well. Welcome to the jungle.

Varsity Blues

Today's men's look of the day is a junior, Taiga, from Japan. Taiga was very shy, but he knew he was fly. Many people I see when I blog that are from Japan have the fly- est style and it also amazes me. When we saw him today in the DAC's cafeteria, his pants are what caught our attention. They are from Ralph Lauren's Rugby Collection- Fall 2011. He went all out Ralph with the cardigan to match his pants for the complete Urban Prep look. I like the fact that he went with the beige color shoes instead of black or navy blue ones. Even though I am not a fan of Recs, he makes them flow with the outfit. To make the look even more urban, he added a beanie, which is the current trend. Also, you cannot notice but he has a Louis V wallet key chain. This look is very labeled, but he made it work.

School Days

 

 Hey guys , I hope every ones rainy day went well. Today's look of the day is Raiven's classmate  Kyla.I spotted her walking down the stairwell and had to make sure we took a picture . As many of you know , today's weather was horrible , and I could not BARE to get dressed . But I found her ensemble to be soooo... weather appropriate and cute . Coupling her high school cardigan , with a polka dotted button-down, striped under shirt , cuffed boyfriend jeans , red ankle rain boots , and vintage bag this outfit is a perfect example of self-expression , and creativity at its best. I'm also loving her poof !! Work it girl :)

Versace x H&M

I never imagined myself buying anything designer unless I luckily find something at a thrift store. Now we have designer brands for cheaper. With Versace collaborating with H&M everyone will be looking chic and edgy for a lesser price. Only problem is EVERYONE...

This line is very hot and it contains a lot of different patterns, prints, and luxurious designs to make one look very expensive as if they really bought a fierce item from Versace vintage. However, being from H&M, prices range from about $20- $300, so it fits a college student's budget.

Versace for H&M will make its debut Nov. 8 during a runway show in NYC.

Monochramatic Mood

Intern and student, Okoye Berry is rockin' basically an all blue 10 Deep fit. Working at 10 Deep, Okoye receives the trendiest pieces and puts them together well. His patterned shirt is really what caught our attention to this look. He matched it nicely with pair of low cut converse and a 10 Deep Wildcard Snapback. The gold necklace and watch accents all of the blue. Apart from shopping at Atrium, Bape, A.P.C., Rag and Bones, and Ralph Lauren, Okie has a best friend from home who sends him unique thrifts from Seattle thrift shops. He is a ride or die for 10 Deep.

Boats & Stripes

Hey everyone its Ariane filling you guys in on today's fashion of the day. Our friend Kamau, from Maryland is sporting a very casual yet, unique look. Many boys tend to match up their plaid button ups with a simple jean , and pair of sneaker, but Kamau switched it up and matched his outfit with a pair of Sperry's. The popular boat shoes have made there way to the main stream and now even come in different colors for both males , and females .To add a bit of flare, he cuffed his jeans to showing off the shoes. His favorite places to shop are thrift stores , and consignment shops in D.C. when he goes home.
